The LaserJet Pro M275 features HP's brand-new TopShot Scanning technology, which uses the raised arm shown to scan three-dimensionl objects

On September 8, HP announced some new LaserJet products. Probably the new LaserJet HP is promoting most heavily is the TopShot LaserJet Pro M275, an A4 color laser MFP that features the firm’s interesting new TopShot scanning technology, which scans everything from documents to 3D objects. As one might expect, this machine is an addition to HP’s lineup.

Although it received less attention than the TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 in HP’s September 7 analyst briefing (see “HP Analyst Briefing: IPG Is Innovating to Impact HP’s Transformation, Part 1,” and “Part 2”) and press release, the new LaserJet Enterprise 500 color M551 series of A4 workgroup color laser printers is more interesting to those interested in consumables. It is the only new LaserJet family announced on September 8 to feature a new engine platform and new supplies. The new series replaces the three-year-old Color LaserJet CP3520 printer series.

Finally, HP announced the LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602, and M603 series of high-speed A4 monochrome laser printers. These machines replace several popular families of workgroup monochrome devices, including the two-year-old LaserJet Enterprise P3010 series and the three-year-old LaserJet P4014, P4015 series, and P4515 series.
