The very public unraveling of Collins Ink Corporation’s agreement to supply Kodak with ink for its Versamark printers sparked a lawsuit on October 17, when Kodak filed a breach-of-contract complaint against it former supplier in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. Kodak achieved a victory on November 4, when Judge David G. Larimer granted Kodak’s motion for a preliminary injunction against Collins Ink ordering it to uphold its supply and reseller agreement with the OEM. Collins Ink, however, is contesting this order. It has filed an appeal and a motion to stay proceedings. In addition, the defendant has filed its formal answer to Kodak’s complaint.
