On March 6, Canon U.S.A. upgraded the higher end of its PIXMA Office inkjet all-in-one line with the introduction of the $199.99 PIXMA MX892, which replaces the PIXMA MX882 at the same price point. The older machine was introduced a little over a year ago (see “Canon Announces New PIXMA Inkjets but No New Supplies”). Unlike some of its competitors that target business users, Canon’s PIXMA Office line is aimed squarely at home-office users. Indeed, Canon refers to the PIXMA MX892 right in the title of its press release as a “home office printer powerhouse.” The main differences between PIXMA Office all-in-ones and Canon’s photo-oriented inkjet all-in-ones are faxing and an ADF on the PIXMA Office models.
