Canon’s complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) alleging that remanufacturers infringed patents held on gear used to rotate the imaging drum in many Canon- and HP-branded toner cartridges is in discovery, with each party needing to meet tight deadlines for supplying witness lists, documents, expert reports, and the like in advance of the hearing scheduled for November 2012. It makes for a slew of dry legal documents to sort through, but we recently found some motions that grabbed our attention.
