Late last week, a hearing was held on HP’s motion to dismiss a consolidated class action that accused the OEM of violating various consumer protection acts and computer fraud and crime laws by using a printer firmware update to disable printing from aftermarket cartridges. Now the waiting game begins as Judge Edward J. Davila considers whether to dismiss the various claims against HP.
