While HP faces four class actions that accuse it of using a firmware update to suddenly disable printing from third-party inkjet cartridges, HP is also the defendant in three class actions claiming that the printer giant continued to advertise a printer-installation technology called Smart Install on numerous LaserJet models when this technology had been disabled.
