China and U.S. Agree to Phased Plan to Ease Trade War

The United States and China have agreed to a “phase one” plan to gradually reduce tariffs on some Chinese goods in exchange for increased purchases of American agriculture products. The agreement came before a December 15 deadline when an additional 15 percent tariff was scheduled to take effect on about $156 billion worth of goods
